AUMORE WOOL

THE AUMORE STORY

Aumore produces only the highest quality Australian downs wool quilts, embodying the Latin language’s word for love – ‘amore’, while being quintessentially Australian.

Woven together, the name ‘Aumore’ was born, and just as Italians express their ‘amore’ through the creation of high quality products, Aumore exemplifies European quality through its world renowned Australian downs wool quilts and blankets.

The Aumore Goal
Aumore’s goal is to create products of which have never existed in the world before. Using a combination of skilled human hands and state-of-the-art technologies, we constantly advance our luxury products in order to improve the quality of people’s lives.

Aumore wishes to offer you a new lifestyle. Simultaneously, we are attempting to repay nature and wildlife for providing us with the means to share our ‘loving warmth’ with the world.

Australian Made
Focusing on the tiniest details and variations in quality, we have spent years testing and analysing different types of wool to see which ones are the best for use in a quilt. Aumore discovered down’s wool is simply the preeminent wool for bedding, and this has been proven time and time again via our customers’ testimonies.

Quality Assurance
Aumore sources its downs wool from local Australian suppliers, which is reinforced by our ‘Australian grown’ certification and Woolmark standard approval. As this wool is only of the highest level of quality, there is a limited yield each year. This superior wool’s fibres are of maximum length and density, and when compared to lesser wools, are natural and healthy because of lower amounts of lanolin. This means production of the wool requires the least amount of processing possible.

Aumore wool is carbonised to ensure purity, which also means the original colour of the wool is retained. You’ll never see different coloured wool through the cotton quilt cover. We go so far as to prove this by placing a zipper on the side of each quilt, so you can touch the wool yourself. This 32-micron downs wool (Merino is only 17 microns in diameter) will not fly out of a quilt cover as shorter wool does.

Aumore will always tell you exactly how thick your quilt is (grams per metre squared), our unique quilt cover tags are removable, and our 100% cotton quilt cover edges are kept extra thin for comfort. We only use the best cotton available, woven to be as soft and as smooth as silk.

Aumore quilt covers also have unique square-shaped pockets that keep the wool separated equally, so it can never bunch up together. No thought has been spared when it comes to Aumore wool products. Woven together, the name ‘Aumore’ was born, and just as Italians express their ‘amore’ through the creation of high quality products, Aumore exemplifies European quality through its world renowned Australian downs wool quilts and blankets.

There is no production line in the Aumore factory, because we want to control every aspect of the process. Over 50% of the Aumore quilt-making process is done by hand – the loving hands of skilled technicians. Machines are simply not as good as people when it comes to ensuring an even cover of wool within a quilt. However, when we do use machines (such as an industrial sewing machine), Aumore uses the most modern technologies available.

This standard is shown in small details like the threading on our quilt covers. You can’t feel the thread, which means it won’t rub against your skin when you’re sleeping. Uncomfortable threading can ruin a quilt cover. Aumore endeavours to ensure comfort in all ways possible. This is why we choose natural downs wool. As wool can hold moisture to regulate a sheep’s body temperature, so too can a downs wool cover resting upon two different people simultaneously regulate both of their temperatures, even if one person is hot and the other is cold. One of you cools down while the other warms up. Sleeping with Aumore is simply ‘amore’.
