Aumore Wool quilts and underblankets are boutique products of limited availability. Due to the rarity of the premium quality materials necessary to produce our 100% Australian wool and alpaca products, we have chosen to stay relatively small in size.

This ensures we are always able to retain our extremely high level of quality, as well as the standards Aumore Wool are proud to exemplify.

As a result of Aumore Wool’s choice to use superior materials and manufacturing methods, over the years many large companies have approached us, wishing to replace their current wool quilt and underblanket suppliers with our products. Aumore could literally be selling hundreds of thousands of quilts each year, but in doing so, we would have had to reduce the quality of our products. This move would simply go against our strong principles.

Aumore Wool only produces 10,000 of its rare wool quilts and underblankets each calendar year, and just 1,000 alpaca quilts and underblankets. This quantity also depends upon the supplies of rare Down’s wool, alpaca fleece, and premium quality combed cottons and Egyptian cottons.

How rare are these materials? Less than 1% of all sheep’s wool in Australia is Downs Wool, yet we only use the best fleece from this already extremely rare wool. High quality alpaca fleece is even more rare, while specialised combed cotton and fine Egyptian cottons are often in short supply, rarely being simple or easy to source.

Global environmental and market conditions such as extreme weather and the state of financial commodity markets can have massive effects on our boutique industry. Aumore’s waiting lists can be quite long, so if you do have the ability to purchase an Aumore Wool product, you may wish to believe you are loved by the powers that be.
